A note from the kitchen

A note from the kitchen

“I grew up watching biryani being made the slow way. No shortcuts, no rushing the dum. Just the patience, the aromas and the anticipation of a meal worth waiting for.”

Moving from Tamil Nadu to Sydney, I found myself missing those familiar flavours. I wanted to recreate that feeling of home and share it with others who might be missing the same thing.

So Madras Canteen began as a simple idea: make the food I love, give it the care it deserves, and share it with anyone looking for a little taste of home.

This isn't a restaurant in the usual sense. It's my kitchen, opening its doors to you.

See you this weekend.
